To some, it may probably seem like a lip-syncing and dance challenge video app for teenagers; however, it’s more than that! If you use TikTok just right, you can introduce your business or product to a vast audience. 

Below are five easy ways to succeed on TikTok:

1. Trends are your best friend

If you spend around five minutes on TikTok, you will start to notice that the platform is all about trends. Whether it’s the Chipotle’s Flip the Lid trend or the #InMyDenim challenge by Guess, trends come out of nowhere, and it’s essential to be the first one to hop on the trends, creating new and refreshing content. 

One tip is to spend around 30 minutes a day looking through trending hashtags on TikTok. Once that’s done, start creating videos! 

2. Use text overlays to tell a story 

Tiktok is known to inspire authentic connections and build a supportive and diverse community. Therefore, storytelling is essential to all businesses on TikTok. One of the best ways to tell a story is by using text overlays, a feature in TikTok that allows content creators to add texts to their short videos. 

So, how do you start? 

The best way to grab a viewer’s attention is by introducing a problem. Ask questions like, “What are Toronto’s underrated coffee shops?” and “How to pose aesthetically for your Instagram?”. These questions are not just attention-grabbing; they relate to customers and educate them through storytelling. 

Businesses succeed by introducing a problem and providing solutions throughout the short video.

3. Find the right influencer to promote your brand 

TikTok influencers are vital to increasing brand exposure on TikTok. Many successful businesses leverage the platform’s diverse creator community to develop authentic and creative content through collaborations.
